ALASTAIR SEELEY COMPLETES MACHINERY LINE-UP FOR 2025 BRIGGS EQUIPMENT NORTH WEST 200 WITH CD RACING/MSS PERFORMANCE SUPERSPORT KAWASAKI

Alastair Seeley has completed his line-up of machinery for a return to action at the 2025 Briggs Equipment North West 200 on May 5-10 by joining the CD Racing by MSS Performance squad on a ZXR 636 Kawasaki.
After sitting out last year’s event, the Carrickfergus rider will race the new bike in the Fraser Homes and Tides Restaurant Supersport events.
Already set to compete on a SMS/ Nicholl Oils Racing M1000RR BMW in the three Superbike races and both Superstock contests at the 2025 event, the Carrickfergus man now has seven chances to achieve a landmark 30th victory around the 8.9 mile Triangle course.
‘I will be a busy boy with seven bites at the cherry.’ the 45 year old smiled as he joined CD Racing boss, Chris Dowd and MSS Performance’s Nick Morgan to unveil his new mount on the north coast.
‘I said I would come back to the North West if I could get competitive machinery and that is what I have now. I will be leaving nothing on the table now that we have bikes that are good enough to do the job. Sometimes a year’s wait can be worth it because it makes you even hungrier to put on a good show.’
Seeley also revealed he has been in ‘full scale training mode’ since Christmas and has a schedule of Spanish and pre-season BSB tests in place ahead of the new season.
‘I will be out there testing alongside the guys I will be racing against at the North West so I will be able to gauge where I am with everything.’ he said.
‘I want that 30th win and the Supersport races are usually the closest battles at the North West with the result not being sorted out until the last lap. Weather can play a big part as well but I’m not worried about it being wet or dry.’
The Seeley deal marks the renewal of CD Racing’s relationship with the north coast event after a decade away. Chris Dowd’s squad made its last appearance at the event in 2015 with William Dunlop before the team took a sabbatical from the sport. The Randalstown man returned to the roads at year’s Isle of Man TT with David Datzer. He now wants to complete his dream of winning a North West 200 race.
‘We came close in 2006 when Rob Frost finished second to Ian Hutchinson.’ Dowd explained.
‘I have always wanted to come back and finish the job and my rider of choice is Alastair Seeley who is as keen as I am to come back to Portrush and win.’
Nick Morgan, who will be preparing Seeley’s Kawasaki, has already tasted North West 200 success with the Carrickfergus rider. Morgan’s company, MSS Performance is Kawasaki’s official Team Green Technical Partner, supplying racing parts and technical support. In 2013 MSS built the ZX10 Kawasaki Seeley raced to victory in Thursday evening’s Superstock race.
‘That is a very special memory and an amazing experience to have been part of.’ Morgan recalled during his recent visit to the north coast.
‘There is nostalgia for us here and we want to do it all again. MSS has a long history with riders from Ireland including Mark Farmer, Stephen Thompson, Richard Britton and William Dunlop and the North West 200 is an event anybody who loves road racing wants to compete in. This is a great opportunity for us to race with the event’s most successful rider and hopefully we can help Alastair get that 30th win.’
PACEMAKER, BELFAST, 18/3/2025: Alastair Seeley is joined by CD Racing Chris Dowd, Nick Morgan of MSS Performance and NW200 Race Director, Mervyn Whyte.
