The Thursday evening Superbike race at the 2025 Briggs Equipment North West 200 on May 5-10 will have a new sponsor as power tool manufacturer, Milwaukee, take on the role.

‘Milwaukee is proud to be associated once again with the North West 200.’ Dale McElveen, Managing Director of Milwaukee Tool UK, said.

‘We don’t have an entrant in this year’s NW200 Superbike races so it makes sense to sponsor a Superbike race instead! And Milwaukee will also have a major presence at the event with our race truck, showcasing our products at Ireland’s largest sporting event.’

Milwaukee has enjoyed a long association with the north coast races, having first taken part in 2013 when the company sponsored William Dunlop and Conor Cummins on Yamaha machinery. Returning the following year with Josh Brookes and Ian Hutchinson, the team made its first major mark at the event as Brookes set a new outright lap record on the red and white liveried machines.

Michael Dunlop rode for the squad at the 2015 North West and more recently Alastair Seeley appeared in Milwaukee livery in 2023, finishing runner-up on a Milwaukee BMW in the feature Superbike race.

But it was Davey Todd who produced Milwaukee’s most successful NW200 performances during last year’s event, steering his Milwaukee BMWs to victory in both Superstock races and three runner-up finishes in the Superbike events behind Glenn Irwin.

‘That was very special to witness.’ McElveen smiled as he unveiled this year’s new agreement.

‘We are delighted to have Milwaukee with us for 2025 as a race sponsor.’ NW200 race director, Mervyn Whyte, said.

‘With Dale at the helm, the company has been a strong supporter of road racing and the North West 200 in particular and we really appreciate that commitment.’
