ALASTAIR SEELEY AIMS FOR WIN No 30 AS HE MAKES SUPERTWIN DEBUT WITH BINCH PRO RACING BY 3B CONSTRUCTION AT 2026 BRIGGS EQUIPMENT NORTH WEST 200 ON MAY 4-9

The Briggs Equipment North West 200’s most successful competitor, 29 times race winner, Alastair Seeley, will make his debut in the Supertwin class aboard a Binch Pro Racing by 3B Construction Aprilia during this year’s race week on May 4-9.
The Carrickfergus rider recently announced he would ride a Ducati for the same team in the Fraser Homes and Tides Restaurant Supersport races. His appearance on the Aprilia in the Maxwell Freight Services and John M Paterson Supertwin races will give Seeley four opportunities to claim a historic 30th NW200 victory.
“I’ve never ridden a Supertwin machine before so it will be something new.” the 46 year old says.
“Maybe I can try to knock out some wins in the smaller cc classes rather than searching for wins in the bigger bike classes where all the big hitters who are regularly competing in BSB are.”
But he acknowledges there are no easy wins at the North West.
“The Supertwin class is a fiercely competitive class and I know that Richard Cooper will be having a good go again and with riders like Paul Jordan, Peter Hickman, Adam McLean and Jeremy McWilliams in the class, there will be plenty of competition.”
Seeley, who now works as a postman when he isn’t racing, feels the smaller class will offer some advantages.
“I am not a full-time racer now and I am not training as much as before.” he says.
“The smaller bike will be easier physically for me to ride compared to the bigger bikes in the Superstock and Superbike classes which take a lot of wrestling. The more races I have, then I am getting mileage that I wouldn’t otherwise get.”
Seeley is delighted with the support provided by Dave Binch’s British championship squad with the assistance of the three Barr brothers who are behind the 3B Construction company.
“The team have come to the rescue this year and given me a good chance to go for that 30th win and it would be nice to reward them with a victory.” Seeley, who mentors the squad’s young hopefuls in the British championship, says.
It is a hope that is echoed by the team boss.
“As a team we are really focussed on that 30th win and we know it is a big deal for Alastair.” Binch says.
“We want to help him get there. We are not going to the North West to make up the numbers. It is an exciting opportunity for Alastair and for us and we will give it our best shot.”
“Alastair and the team have a real chance of making history at the 2026 Briggs Equipment North West 200.” race boss, Mervyn Whyte, says.
“It won’t be easy but Alastair will have plenty of home support behind him and if he can achieve that 30th win it will be an incredible achievement.”
