THE METROPOLE BANNER IS UP AHEAD OF THE BRIGGS EQUIPMENT NORTH WEST 200 RACE WEEK, MAY 4–9

One of the most anticipated milestones in the North West 200 calendar took place today as the iconic Metropole corner banner was officially erected, signalling that Race Week is fast approaching.
Briggs Equipment North West 200 Event Manager, Emir McLaughlin, was joined by the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan, as Council staff installed the banner at the famous Metropole corner on the 8.9-mile Triangle course.
The Metropole banner has become a symbolic and exciting moment for fans, residents and organisers alike, marking the true start of the countdown to Race Week. Its appearance on the course brings a real sense of anticipation, as the North Coast prepares to welcome thousands of visitors and competitors from around the world.
Speaking at the installation, Event Manager Emir McLaughlin said the occasion is always a special one in the lead-up to the event.
“It’s always an exciting day when the Metropole banner goes up. It’s a real sign that the North West 200 is just around the corner and that preparations for Race Week are well underway. There’s a fantastic buzz building across the area, and we’re looking forward to welcoming fans back to the Triangle course very soon.”
